About our speaker:

Lora Buechele has a Master’s of Science in Family and Community Services at Oklahoma State University.  She has a passion for helping others through public health interventions.  Through her work she is able to share her knowledge through collaboration and partnerships to improve the overall health of her community.

Currently, Lora works as the Program Coordinator for the Cherokee County TSET Healthy Living Program in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  As Program Coordinator, Lora works to prevent and reduce tobacco use and obesity across Oklahoma.  Throughout her time, she has built strong partnerships to successfully improve upon the health of families, friends, and neighbors in Cherokee County.  Lora integrates the work of tobacco and obesity prevention in schools, businesses, communities, and organizations.  Lora has assisted with adopting and implementing policy at various levels.  Lora’s greatest passion through her work is addressing food access barriers that prevent community residents from having equitable access to healthy foods through the various ways that individuals find, afford, choose, and use healthy foods.

Lora enjoys exploring new opportunities with her family around the world and in the backyard.  Adventures include traveling to new places, visiting different farmers’ markets, working in the garden, playing with her dog, and exploring the great outdoors.
