Speaker: Julie Dearing, PhD, MS, State Programs Coordinator at Oklahoma State Department of Health
Focus: The micro-credential requirement as indicated in the Health Education Act. In her presentation, Dr. Dearing will share results from the Community Health Educator Survey. She will also respond to questions regarding the Health Education Act, which will be effective by the 2023-2024 school year, and the micro-credential that will become a requirement for those teaching health education.
Bio: Dr. Julie Dearing has worked for the State of Oklahoma for 17 years. She currently serves the Oklahoma State Department of Health as the State Programs Coordinator in the Community Analysis and Linkages branch of the Community Development Service. She has content expertise in policy, systems, and environmental strategies to create healthy environments across Schools, Worksites, Communities, Early Childhood Programs, Campuses, Congregations and Restaurants. She is a CDC trained Work@Health Master Trainer and recently completed her PhD in Health and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University.
